This report for the UK Green Building’s Council emphasises the critical need for a transition from a linear economy to a circular one to address climate and biodiversity crises. It underscores the vital role of government, industry, and civil society in fostering a regenerative and circular economy. The report uses the Three Horizons framework to identify eight industry enablers essential for the transition and proposes policy and industry actions for their implementation.
A key challenge in creating the report was categorising and differentiating the eight industry enablers, providing them with a distinct visual identity that could be used within infographics to demonstrate their interconnections. This visual identity enables readers to effortlessly identify which section of the report pertains to each enabler. The report is relevant to a broad range of stakeholders in the built environment, including national and local authorities, clients and developers, asset owners, designers, product manufacturers, builders, insurers/underwriters, demolition contractors, and recyclers.
