UK Green Buildings Council
Net Zero Whole Life Carbon Roadmap
We worked with the UK Green Buildings Council (UKGBC) to produce two reports for the Net Zero Whole Life Carbon Roadmap reports.
Latest report: Cop 28
The latest report launched to coincide with Built Environment Day at COP28 and the second anniversary of the Roadmap's launch, UKGBC reconvened project partners to present a Progress Report on the sector's advancement towards achieving net zero. This report reviews progress over the four years since the 2018 baseline, examining operational carbon, embodied carbon, and F-gas emissions across the UK's domestic, non-domestic, and infrastructure sectors. It offers insights into emissions reduction progress and highlights the need for a supportive policy framework to align with the Roadmap's pathway to net zero.
Original report: Net Zero Whole Life Carbon Roadmap for the UK Built Environment (2021)
Launched at COP26, The Whole Life Carbon Roadmap's creation involved extensive collaboration and stakeholder engagement across our industry, with over 100 organisations contributing to its development and many more providing input through industry consultation. Launched as a unified effort towards rapid decarbonisation, it represents unprecedented industry collaboration. Split into four key components, the Roadmap includes the Main Trajectory Report, offering insights and steps towards achieving net zero emissions by 2050. The Technical Report provides in-depth analysis of the data and methodologies used. Stakeholder Action Plans offer clear guidance to industry stakeholders, while the Summary for Policy Makers recommends key policies to enable the industry to meet its targets.
