The project

Working with Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, Festoon designed the data visualisation report: 'From one to many’. The report explores and visualises data on multiple long-term conditions in Lambeth and Southwark and was based on research carried out by Kings College London.

The visualisations in this project were produced with a combination of QGIS(mapping), Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator.

To find out more about the project on the Guy's & St Thomas' Charity website where you can also download the full report.

The challenge

The project involved understanding and communicating complex data which had been commissioned from King’s College London by Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity. In initial project stages, we produced of a number of different visualisations and infographics before we arrived at interpretations which everyone was happy with. We dealt with the situation by calling meetings with everyone involved to make sure everyone was aligned on their understanding of the data and how it was to be communicated.

“Sam was positive and solutions focused throughout our project, tackling complex data visualisations and responding to a dynamic and developing project from start to finish. Sam captured our brand well and went the extra mile to deliver a quality product to tight deadlines.“ - Rachel Pidgeon, Content Producer, Guy's and St Thomas' Charity

The impact

The report was used to launch Guy’s and St Thomas’s campaign on Multiple long-term conditions in Lambeth and Southwark. The findings of the report were intended to act as a case study to highlight the challenges of dealing with multiple long-term conditions patients. By communicating the issues clearly to health foundations and health practitioners, we helped communicate public health insights from the report to other boroughs and health policy makers so they would further understand the current issue and how policy and practice might be adjusted.

The assets I produced were used for communicating the report and report findings across social media channels, communicating the impact of the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity report.
